Having been deeply emersed in the world of professional combat sports for over 15 years, from the early morning training camp runs to the media workouts and weigh-ins, I have gained a deep understanding of the needs of the athletes physically, mentally and emotionally.
Each and every training camp is unique with its own time constraints and real world issues or injuries to manage. I am here to help guide athletes through these tough weeks to reach their full potential.
After an initial “M.O.T” session with all new athletes or regulars returning after a rest season we set out with the information gathered to create a plan to help manage and manuever their specific requirements of the training program.
It is at this point we create a structured network of communication with any and all other coaches involved be they technical striking coaches/nutritionists/sports psychologists or physiotherapists.
Having now mapped out a weekly routine with all the relevant parties, we can get started! Starting from day one each and every session is dialled in to the athlete and all attention is on them. Using various methods of periodization and strength/power cycles we will ramp up to the peak performance we’re all looking for.
As competition day closes in the training streamlines into a “M.E.D” or minumum effective dose mentality with a strong eye on recovery and injury prevention. Focus is on keeping the athlete in top form with adequate rest and time dedicated to skill training with technical coaches.
